Blood and Marrow transplant procedure in Nigeria in line with

 international standard best practices and  also we train personnel 

(Physicians, Nurses, Data Managers, Laboratory Scientists and Quality

 Control officers) via conferences/educational sessions/workshops  .

The Nigerian Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (N.G.B.M.T) was inaugurated at the Elomaz Hotel, Maryland, Lagos, on 16th September, 2012.

The Group has the mandate to design a protocol that will evolve into a standard for Stem Cell transplantation in Nigeria.
 The NGBMT congratulates the University of Benin Teaching Hospital for a Second successful transplantation. The 2nd index patient had neutrophil engraftment by day +18 and platelet by day +20.His sample was sent for chimerism. He is now HbAA i.e cured of sickle.

The procedure and engraftment process was experienced by members of the NGBMT.
